Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I use on a regular basis Google Docs and, although i find it plenty usable for local formats, there are a bunch of documents not in docs format (like XSD, DTD, Microsoft Project files, ...) for which I have to dowload, which i really find annoying.

So, is there a way to "mount" google docs as a "network share", or any other OS-level architecture ?

"Mount" , you can create a shared google docs and everyone can work on this account. I'm waiting google docs' offline storage with html5 :) –  nXqd Jan 3 '11 at 18:43

You could try Gladinet Cloud Desktop

I would have largely prefered a free solution. –  Riduidel Jan 4 '11 at 9:51

Seems like DocsInOffice.com provides for free the kind of feature I want ... in Windows, at least.
