There is a problem that I have with Google Reader that I find to be particulary annoying. There are some RSS feeds that when I add, all the item of those feeds have their update time set to the time I added them. I am fairly sure this is not due to the RSS itself, because it provides an update time and creation time that is different from what is displayed.

Example (no bug) : http://stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag/node.js alt text

Example (bug) : http://gamedev.stackexchange.com/feeds/tag/web alt text

Am I doing anything wrong or it's just a Google Reader bug ?

Seems that link to rss channel was changed, and google reader identified old posts as new. So google reader shows time when post has been added to database.

It's not a google reader bug. I would assume it's stack exchange's 'problem', depending on when they set their rss feeds to update.

Well if you look at the RSS data you will see each item has their update time and publish time set to something that isn't what's displayed in the screenshot. – HoLyVieR Jan 9 '11 at 2:43
well than that's just odd. – dkuntz2 Jan 9 '11 at 3:12
