Are there any URL shorteners or redirectors whose target links can be changed by its creator after it was made?

Why do you need this? Wouldn't it be simpler just to create a new short link? – ChrisF Jan 13 '11 at 9:58

In some cases, it might be hard to edit where the links were posted, if you want to change the target link to a newer one (or if the old one went dead), like links in readme.txt files or manuals included with files available for download, or if you have posted the link in many different forums or message boards. It would be easier to just edit the target link. – galacticninja Jan 13 '11 at 10:02

@ChrisF - If you create a business card, put a QR code on it with a link ... that link can't be changed afterwards, period. – ripper234 Feb 9 '12 at 7:07
@ripper234 - good point, and a vital piece of information that, if relevant, should have been in the question. – ChrisF Feb 9 '12 at 8:55

@ChrisF - not necessarily. Not every question must explain the ultimate motivation/s behind it - it's simply a question. – ripper234 Feb 9 '12 at 10:10

Not Long claims to be able to do this.

They have a comparison page and editing is one of the things they compare and highlight as a benefit of their service.

Snip URL allow editing if you register.

don't most services that have a "create an account to see statistics" have that, too? – don el ka nal Jan 13 '11 at 21:52
SnipURL stores escaped ampersands, it seems. So, if your long URL already escapes them (for use in an IFRAME), you have to un-escape them. I encountered this problem using embedded Google Calendar IFRAMES. – Fuhrmanator May 15 '12 at 16:13

Snipurl allows links to be re edited. This is a versatile site with many features, well worth a look. You can choose from several prefixes for your links.

The stats are basic, there are no graphs.
