How do you set up a service to schedule email sending?

I want to send a mail on a specific date and I have tried Gmail, Yahoo! and Zimbra.

I didn't find any options to send an email automatically (maybe this is to prevent spam).

Do you know of any options for scheduled mail sending?

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs.If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Was this for online email or desktop client? – random Feb 4 '11 at 22:06
@random ! obviously - online - Desktop client requires "switched on - machine" – Sagar R. Kothari Feb 7 '11 at 3:39

A (relatively) new service has come up to do this for Gmail and Yahoo! Mail: Momentomail.

(Lifehacker review)

Momentomail uses OpenID 2.0, which is no longer supported by Gmail. – Dour High Arch Apr 25 '15 at 16:06
