Microsoft promotes the Web Slices feature of Internet Explorer 8 to allow easy monitoring of changes to web pages. Its promotional videos typically use the monitoring of an eBay sale item as an example of how to use Web Slices. I haven’t been able to get Web Slices to work for sale items in eBay. Is there a trick to enabling Web Slices in eBay or is the Web Slices feature not supported?
The only place I have seen Web Slices working in eBay is on the Daily Deals page of ebay.co.uk, but even that doesn’t work on the Daily Deals page of ebay.com. So is it possible that Web Slices used to work for sale items on eBay at one time, but have since been switched off? Or is it the case that Web Slices have never worked for sale items on eBay?
