I want a website that lets me charge clients a specific amount one-time or recurring billing for a specific amount. Where do I go?

I love freshbooks too, but I cant bill by credit card on there. I want something where I can store CC info and charge for purchases.

Right, but that really isn't what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something like Freshbooks + CC checkout on site (not a third party). Something that does residual billing/charging and/or one-time billing/charges

@KirkStrobeck Any reason why PayPal won't work for you? You can't store the cc information, but you could still let a person pay by any amount. There are also ways you can set up an authorization through PayPal such that you could charge it again later whenever you liked. – Kerri Shotts May 9 '11 at 21:09

Its only risk if you hold on to them, thats why I want to use a verified service who's doing all of the protection that storing cc info entails. spreedly.com would be great, but no front-end :( – Kirk Strobeck May 10 '11 at 17:24

I use Zoho Invoice for all my invoicing. Free for up to 5 invoices a month, and a manageable fee afterwards.

It will manage emails, payments, reports and, to some degree, expenses. And it has a RESTAPI allowing you to achieve whatever you may need.

Update 5/9:

Following Kirk's comment that he wasn't looking for invoicing, but actual online charging systems, I offer the 3 I used in my projects:

  1. Paypal - kinda default world wide. Don't like their (lack of) support, though.
  2. Google Checkout - allows you to use your current Google identity
  3. Amazon FPS - used it in a project that required large transactions. People can use their Amazon identity and the security it entails, including all the means of payment already listed.

I use curdbee.com. It is branded as "for freelancers", but you can remove this with the professional edition.

You would need to also buy the recurring billing module.

edit: I have not personally come across any online systems that will let you store Credit Card details because of the PCI compliance required.
