My account is not deleted, but disabled instead. I've tried to contact Facebook, but all I get in the reply is that my FB account was blocked because I've breached Facebook TOS. The last letter said "This decision is final and cannot be appealed".

Any advice?

Found pretty much all answers at Facebook Blocked Account. Facebook didn't explain what TOS did I breach, though.

There is no relation between that account and the one I am given in company to develop FB apps. That account is not blocked and I am using it currently. – Guy May 21 '11 at 15:32

Since contacting facebook also didn't help I would suggest you to create a new account. But it will involve a lot of hard work making friends again, photos will have to be uploaded once more, tagging and what not!

This part is not actually an answer regarding facebook, but it is an answer by the community who got fed up of facebook's privacy related issues and have come up with innovative project DIASPORA.

DISCLAIMER: I am not associated with this project as a developer. I just wanted you to know about an option available. I have accounts in facebook as well as joindiaspora. So don't regard this as advertising.

If you are interested you may consider DIASPORA ALPHA, which is available through https://joindiaspora.com (invite only) or the Diasporg which is a community supported Diaspora pod where you can open your seed (account).

Speaking about the advantages, there are many:

  1. Share what you want, with whom you want.
  2. Diaspora lets you sort your connections into groups called aspects. Unique to Diaspora, aspects ensure that your photos, stories and jokes are shared only with the people you intend.
  3. You own your pictures, and you shouldn’t have to give that up just to share them. You maintain ownership of everything you share on Diaspora, giving you full control over how it's distributed.
  4. Diaspora makes sharing clean and easy – and this goes for privacy too. Inherently private, Diaspora doesn’t make you wade through pages of settings and options just to keep your profile secure.

@Guy, I have clearly stated I only use diaspora and not as a developer. If you check the links you would be clear about it. If I Google/search your name on fb I may even find several "Guy"s on facebook too! My diaspora handle is joindiaspora.com/people/37956. Check it to see my public posts. – Chethan S.
