I have noticed recently that the Bing homepage image no longer shows information tidbits about the image when you hover over different areas of it.

It doesn't appear to work on Windows-Xp with IE 8 or Windows 7 with IE 9.

Is there a feature that needs to be turned on to re-enable this? I am thinking that maybe a recent update by Microsoft disabled something in IE.

This might sound weird but this option is no longer available in Canada, and maybe other countries. Proof:

  • I tried it on my computer, my girlfriend computer and a friend computer in Montreal, non off them had the image tidbits
  • I asked a friend to try in out from England, all image tidbits are there.
  • I asked the same friend from England to VPN to Montreal and try it out, no image tidbits.

Conclusion: Bing image tidbits are somehow clicked in Canada
