Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

We are a small company of 80 employees across 7 countries and we are looking for a web based application (open source and PHP preferred) that can do the following:

  • Employee information
  • Company news and updates
  • Document sharing
  • Web forms
  • Vacation request and calendar

etc... We tried orangehrm.com and it's not very good. What we want is that every employee can login once a day and get all the company updates, news etc. Also, this should the portal they visit for forms, insurance information, personal information etc.

You're a fairly large organization that can afford a commercial product. If you're a non-profit you can always ask for reduced pricing. – dnbrv Feb 3 '12 at 2:32
Ok, so can you give me an example of a commercial product ? – Stewie Feb 3 '12 at 15:02
This is so funny, this question is "locked" .I asked this question in SO and they locked it saying this was a question for "webapps" and now its locked here.. So, this question is not meant for any stackexchange site :) – Stewie Feb 3 '12 at 15:04
I've never needed such a commercial product, but there're things like Google for general searches and Capterra for software solutions. As for reasons of closure, on SO your question was off-topic, and here it's too broad (see the FAQ). – dnbrv Feb 4 '12 at 0:38

What you are describing is a site that can be constructed from a simple content management system.

Binami has installers for many open source application. They can installed on windows or unix boxes. Some are PHP, some aren't. They even have stacks that can be installed on Amazon Web services hosts, some can even be supported on the free level.
