I'm trying to help a friend who runs a Blogger blog at http://www.meanderingsandmuses.com. This has been working fine for years, and two days ago, suddenly and without any notification from Google, began showing "Blog not found". I've read everything I can find in the support docs (not much), and can't find any way to even determine what the problem is, much less how to fix it. It seems like Google pulled the plug on the blog, as if it were spam, but it's clearly not (it's a blog about fiction writing), and there are no emails from Google saying what happened.

This is my friend's passion and she and her many loyal readers are kind of devastated. What can I do to fix this?! Help! Thanks in advance.

Yes, it brings me to the Google Dashboard, which behaves as usual, but has none of the usual tools for administering the blog. It's as if the blog just doesn't exist. – Joshua Frank Feb 15 '12 at 14:13
I disagree that this is too localized, because it affects everyone on blogger and blogspot, and this problem will continue to happen to people in the future. I've updated my answer with specific links that I used to resolve the problem, to make it more useful for others in this situation. – Joshua Frank Feb 16 '12 at 15:02

This question is unlikely to help any future visitors; it is only relevant to a small geographic area, a specific moment in time, or an extraordinarily narrow situation that is not generally applicable to the worldwide audience of the internet. Well, the blog just came back on its own. I made several forum posts on the Google support blogs, and submitted a request to have the blog reviewed. I never got any acknowledgement that they actually received this, and no real idea if they were responding to my requests or if it was a temporary glitch that fixed itself. Anyway, all's well now.

Update: Here are some specific links I followed to try to resolve the problem:
