Demographics from websites? Lead sources? Zip codes? please elaborate. –  Evan Carroll Jul 8 '10 at 18:46
I've edited to say my website. Otherwise I was very specific about the information I'm interested in gathering. –  citadelgrad Jul 8 '10 at 20:13
This question probably belongs on area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/894/pro-webmasters ... unfortunately that site is not launched yet. –  davr Jul 8 '10 at 21:01

Quantcast is generally regarded as the market leader in demographics information for webistes, and StackOverflow uses it for information about it's audience through an embedded JS file.

Alexa gives you some rough data, just don't install their toolbar.

Thanks for the suggestion. Why not install the toolbar? –  citadelgrad Jul 8 '10 at 20:43
It's how Alexa collects the data. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexa_Toolbar –  Gelatin Jul 9 '10 at 15:19
