Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I checked the first four search result pages on webapps and Google, but I didn't find an answer to my question and issue, which is also discussed on the Google Help forums by other people.

My issue is, I know from people that they might have more than one e-mail address, but I don't remember it, as most people use cryptic e-mail addresses, even older folks. Now when I search for a person, e.g. in this screenshot:

GMail Search screenshot

It doesn't help me to display and find the e-mail address of this guy. Important: I might not have saved this e-mail address of him to my contacts yet, thus it doesn't help me to search my Google Contacts! Also, if you don't want me to use Greplin, switching over to Google Contacts is another (time-consuming) step that I want to avoid. And then of course there is the issue described in the Google help thread: Sometimes I simply want or need to see the e-mail address, even if obtaining it is not the problem.

I checked my IMAP client (Postbox 3), but their search is actually worse in regards to my goal.

Conclusion: As I am using several browser extensions that alter and expand the display and features of GMail, I wonder if there isn't a browser (Chrome) extension also for this issue?

you should accept answers to question you have asked, you have only 25% of accept rate. – user221287 May 4 '12 at 19:10
Ok thanks, I just went over my list and accepted a few answers. Was this hampering my progress in getting answers? ...really, so silly...it was not my intention to not accept answers. – grunwald2.0 May 5 '12 at 7:13
yes, whenever anyone see your question; they see your accept rate; lesser accept rate = the user has stopped visiting the site – user221287 May 5 '12 at 7:14
This sounds smart in principle, but what if the (only) answer is "not acceptable" or plain wrong? Which was the case with most of the answers that I didn't check. They at least were not what I expected as an answer. I will discuss this on meta. ;) – grunwald2.0 May 5 '12 at 8:18
Well in that case you can comment on the answers or edit your question so that people do not post those kind of answers again and you can also set a bounty for the questions. – user221287 May 5 '12 at 8:58
