I'm trying to upload and/or embed some audio files into my blog, hosted on Google's Blogspot, but cannot seem to do so. The three audio files, about 2.5 hours of recording, total about 35MB in size of all the files.

How can I embed them in my blog where I can also make it available for listening and download?

  • SoundCloud - they have a limit on "tape" and allow only two hours of free upload. I exceeded that.
  • OurMedia - it never uploaded even when it said it did.
  • Mediafire - only allows people to download, and not everyone will care to do so - some may only want to listen to it online and leave.

I'm also trying to have it show up on the blog with "music player interface" so people can play it straight from my blog itself and download it if they want.

If you use Dropbox, here's a quick solution using Google Audio Player:

  1. Upload audio file to Public folder on Dropbox, and save its public link somewhere.
  2. Embed audio player in your blog post with this code (via):

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3523697345-audio-player.swf" quality="best" flashvars="audioUrl=MP3link" width="400" height="27"></embed>

  1. Replace "MP3link" with the link we got in the first step.

That would give you an audio player in your blog post allowing visitors to play. enter image description here

As for the download option, simply provide the direct-link to your audio file.

You can use player from your own Google reader/ GMail/voice or just use this same embed code!

But suppose this guy deletes his Google account, then access to all the services would be lost. It's better to have your own player - get the code from the Google reader player or gmail/voice player. Between these, reader is the best though!

Answer to your question is simple you can't host audio on blogger servers earlier they allowed it but only video upload is available!

I believe there are extensions conflict otherwise you could have stored MP3 in drive too!

there are two things

  1. Host your audio someplace safe {means public access to the file remains at least as long as the service remains such as amazon free 5 GB, Google Music Beta, use the audio player from Google to embed it

  2. Host your audio on services which offer their own players soundcloud is good but 2 hour limit is just not good enough, my favorite: divshare and spreaker which offers 20 hours storage!

You can host your MP3s in Google drive too change the viewing permission to anyone with link or public copy the link given it is not a direct link but it is link to preview the file you can download the file and then immediately cancel it copy the link in your downloads tab and remove the session id or timeout variables after the ? delete everything use the link in same manner as given by Leo, use the same embed code with mp3link linking to the download sans the session details link
