I'm trying to create an online marketplace that allows buyers to "reserve" a product by putting in their credit card information, but that doesn't actually charge the card until the product is delivered. I think the solution might be something similar to whatever Kickstarter does (where I as a supporter pledge money, but it isn't withdrawn from my account until the project is fully funded--potentially 2 months later). Does anyone have any specific ideas about payment processing companies that can do this?

This is called an authorization hold transaction. Pretty much any payment processor does this. Wikipedia Page. Also, this looks to be the wrong SE for this question. – Dez Apr 26 '12 at 20:16
