What happened to GMail Drive? Has it been abondoned/droped by Google? What's the difference between Google Drive and GMail Drive? Why did Google create "Google Drive" when they could have just improved "GMail Drive"? What's the point of having the features of Sharing files and editing them together online - when all these features are already available in Google Docs.

Google is always trying to combine things if possible. It's less stuff all spread out everywhere and easier to support. Google Drive now allows you to store files and sync them between computers, both on the web and offline. It's basically just like Dropbox but also allows you to still have that Google Docs aspect with it. Overall it's much better to combine things that perform similar functions then to split them up. It's a smart move by Google. |

If you mean this Gmail Drive, then it was a third party service and no way supported by Google. Google drive is yet to show it's full potential. Wait for the whole picture. |
