Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Here's what I want to do: plan out several potential bike rides and be able to display them all simultaneously to other people. I've used Google Maps for this (with its 'my places' or 'my maps'), but there are some annoying limitations for this:

  • only about 15 routes* simultaneously (then you have to page)
  • the route editing is pretty horrible

There are plenty of sites that let you map out individual routes (eg, gpsies.com, bikely.com, mapmyride.com, strava...) but you can't see several at once.

So any alternatives? A site that supported both OpenStreetMap and Google Maps would be great. If I could share editing privileges with other users that would be brilliant.

  • I'm using "route" to mean a linear sequence of points. Whether or not it uses any routing algorithm to follow roads is not especially important.
