I am trying to build a collaborative google sites platform where groups of 20 people will edit 20 google docs, linked through a google sites web page. I'm trying to get the file cabinet template to recognize when a google document is modified by publishing the document. The updates appear if I embed the google documents, but because I'll have previews for 20 documents, it will not be easy to navigate, so I'm trying to have a recent file updates section at the top to show activity. I heard that google docs at least used to have an RSS option, but I can't seem to find it. All I really need is for the file cabinet to recognize when a document has been changed, but thus far it doesn't for published documents. My last option is to use the announcements template, but I'm trying to restrict communication to forums and the docs themselves so that people don't have to look in 3 places for comments and also so users won't have to remember to update their posts and docs to show activity. Any ideas?
