If you try this Google Maps link, I've configured it to show traffic congestion live in London. It updates every few minutes, it appears, and from reports from my friends on the ground, seems fairly accurate. If you're using Google Maps on your phone, the latest car navigating option in Google Maps apparently takes this into account and can re-route you around delays. |

Transport for London (TfL) has developed a website called Get Ahead Of The Games which has information on temporary road changes in London as well as predicted impact on roads in London according game events and venues. While Google Maps and 'social driving direction' apps such as Waze can give you current information, the TfL Get Ahead website can give you more helpful data on what hotspots to avoid at what times. |

As far as I know Google Maps provides traffic information when you ask for directions regarding London (and other cities as well). I don't know if it is the best way to choose an optimal route, probably not. If your have one it is better to rely on some traffic-aware car navigator. |

TomTom HD Traffic has another map, but why try that? The companion site Routes.tomtom.com already takes the delays into account, as well as temporary road closures. (TomTom PND owners can get the same road closures as a free MapShare download) |
