I am looking for a way to do the following (with an app and/or web app):

  • iPhone receives an email from ACCOUNT1@mail.com
  • App (running in background or active when "closed" - is this possible?) auto-forwards the email to ACCOUNT2@mail.com

As I mentioned above, this is something I would very much like to be passive, so the user does not have to open the app. Whenever the user receives an email, it's automatically forwarded to the second address (from the user's account, of course).

Hopefully that wasn't too convoluted of an explanation... Anyway, your input would be greatly appreciated!

Wouldn't it be easier to do this email forwarding directly on the mail server? Gmail and Exchange both offer email rules that can handle this type of task... – JW8 Aug 24 '12 at 20:52
