I would like to know if it is possible to do this:
(assumes a email/cloudprint/internet enabled all-in-one printer/fax/etc at home, with connected phone line; also assumes that phone line to have free outbound calling to all of US and Canada.)
1.) Receive a document (say .pdf) as an attachment to email, accessible from smart phone email client/app.
2.) Have print app for smartphone (say from HP/Brother/whoever your home AIO brand is) that would sent "print job" as email to home machine and within - would tell machine to send it out as a fax (home machine would essentially be acting as a fax server) to whatever phone number it told to send it to.
Goal is to be able to send fax from smart phone to any fax machine in US.
here is a practical example.
as a service technician for a company, i go to a retail site to do some work. the company i work for is a subcontractor to this retail site's vendor. this vendor requires additional signed documentation that the work was done from store management. what i don't have is a mobile printing solution. there is no problem getting the required documentation from the vendor; it's just that it comes to my smart phone in the form of an email attachment. (.pdf) i would simply like to be able to sent the document to my home all-in-one internet enabled printer to fax to the store's fax machine. (they don't have an internet enabled pc with attached printer at the store, otherwise this would be a moot request.) i know i could sign up with a service and get an app for that.. i just want to simplify and cut out the middleman. i'm cheap, i'll admit it. i don't mind at all paying a small one-time fee for an app, etc...
