I'm looking for a web based softphone, preferably one that is built on a decent platform (not some outdated active-x control).

Currently I am using x-Lite and/or the pay version, Eyebeam, however these windows software solutions are inadequate and bug riddled, not to mention expensive.

I'm looking for a softphone that supports SIP, "presence", along with normal call features (call waiting, xfer, etc).

Take a look at Megapin. The M2 has a text messaging feature STUN firewall detection, a skinnable interface, etc.

I'll give you the "check" for now, I wish there were more alternatives :-(. –  mike the mike Jul 15 '10 at 20:02
