I know several people have already posted about this, but my situation seems to be a little ... unique. I have uninstalled Chrome (the browser I use), changed my password three times, changed the theme more times than I can count, inspected my extensions list a lot, and no change. Absolutely none. I am literally close to tears I am so frustrated, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. thank you (I use Google Chrome usually, and my tumblog is settingfiftyfour.tumblr.com. Just put those there just in case it helps)

Where are you seeing the ads? Can you post a link to an image of a screenshot of your Tumblr? – Eight Days of Malaise Nov 17 '12 at 2:01
Not seeing any ads... – samthebrand Nov 17 '12 at 5:42

I've had the same issue, and I suspect it's a spammer who has managed to figure out the "Post from email" address for your blog. I advise resetting it, as this will rerandomize the string for the email, and inquiring to Tumblr as to how to disable this "feature" outright (I only recently found this same issue on my tumblr account, and have yet to hear how to disable it)
