Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm an AWS customer, so I need a separate service for email. I've been using Google Apps for free (we're a small business, and don't have much money to spare), but it's limited to just 10 users. Whilst groups offers a 'hackaround' to support extra email addresses, there are problems with this approach.

Does anyone know of an email provider that is cheaper than Google (ideally, a flat fee for, say, 100 accounts)?

Have you tried creating e-mail addresses based on sub domains? – Jacob Jan Tuinstra Nov 22 '12 at 15:29

@JacobJanTuinstra: I'm not quite sure what you mean by that - can you elaborate? Oh, I think I see what you mean - you mean set up several free Google Apps accounts, one per sub-domain? I didn't realise you could do that with Google Apps. I'd rather not, though - my colleagues would prefer 'name@example.com' to 'name@something-else.example.com' – Bobby Jack Nov 22 '12 at 17:15
You've said it, Bobby. One consideration: is it worthwhile making the change-over? Migration, reduction of efficiency? – Jacob Jan Tuinstra Nov 22 '12 at 19:40
