Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've asked this question at the Microsoft forums and no one seems to be able to give me an answer. So, I figured I'd give it a shot here.

My college issued me a Windows Live ID that ended with the schools web address. They said it would be good for life. Apparently life is about 2 years. They decided they were going to disable the windows Live Ids, but I didn't get the memo. So time comes and they disable them, fine whatever, but my XBOX live account is still attached to that id.

The only way to change the attached Microsoft Account is to be able to login to the currently attached Microsoft Account... I've been through their stupid password reset about 5 times now and it never works. They send me the link, I click the link, and then arrive at some error screen every time.

Does anyone know if they have some sort of hidden phone support I could use to call someone to help me change this thing or know a way to transfer the gamer tag to my new Microsoft Account? Their online automated help is really starting to get under my skin.

its probably a long shot , but you can try going to outlook.com and try to migrate your live id to outlook – Shakehar Dec 4 '12 at 23:49
