I had an existing gmail account.

I create a new one and I couldn't back then, use the old one.

When I entered into my new e-mail it has a reminder:" There is no recovery e-mail associated etc. et "

Could I use the former gmail address?

It is possible one of my gmail accounts are set up this way.Alternate email addresses can only be associated with one Google Account at a time. – phwd♦ Jul 16 '10 at 21:11
