Is it possible to customize Google upper black panel?

I want to add groups and translation to upper panel and hide other stuff that I don't need.

There's a Google Chrome extension which will let you edit the black menu bar. Not sure about other browsers. There's not a way to do it within your Google Account settings. –  Al E. Feb 1 '13 at 16:30

If you use Google Chrome, you can use the Big G Black Bar Sorter extension.

It allows you to move items around and even on to or off of the "more" menu.
