In the old Google groups, I enjoyed the feature for asking a custom question to the people wishing to join a group. This worked as an entry level security check, however weak.
However, in the new Google groups, I failed to find this feature, even after repeated searching.
There is a round about way of doing this. I have found that, if I (temporarily) switch to the old style, set the custom question there, and then revert back to the new style, this feature works all right. The answers provided by the people wishing to join even appears under the column, Reason in the approval page.
But this approach is cumbersome, and actually I am adding the question in the old Google Group and the migrating the group to the new one.
Could you please suggest a way of directly adding the custom question in new Google group?
I hope the feature has not been removed from the new style?
But why remove a feature?
Or am I missing something here?
