For the past few years I've been using Google Reader to archive my Twitter and Facebook history for various reasons. Obviously yesterday's news really threw a wrench in everything.

My problem ...

I need a way to export every 'article' from 3 subscriptions I have (not just the subscription URL) and import those into a good RSS reader (open to suggestions). Anyone have any advice?

I read a few of these blog posts yesterday, but they don't really address the problem. I need something thats going to do more than just migrate the RSS URLs. As you probably know, Twitter removes tweets after a while so that URL I've been using will only show a handful of tweets and not the full archive. – Ryan Grush Mar 15 at 2:22

You realize, that aside from stared items, feed items automatically get removed after 30 days right? Your started/liked posts are within the json files you get as part of takeout. – Zoredache Mar 15 at 4:45
I would have to 'star' all the items for that to work and there's no mass assign feature in Reader. I'd have to do that one by one. – Ryan Grush Mar 15 at 6:20

Have a look at Feedly (cloud-based). For now you can log on Feedly through your Google Reader account and migrate all your feeds. It also comes with a Chrome extension that lets you subscribe to new feeds.

Feedly doesn't let you "star" items, but it has a "Save for later" feature, and it lets you export articles to Evernote and Instapaper. Now if only it did that for Readability..

I checked out feedly but I'm still having the same problem. It only pulls the URL of each feed and the recent tweets, not the ~1000 tweets from the past few years. – Ryan Grush Mar 15 at 6:23
AFAIK, Twitter just rolled out archives last Dec 2012. So far, I haven't found any suitable app/reader that can download my Twitter archive for me. – Kaze Mar 15 at 6:34
