Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I used to have a self-hosted Wordpress blog before. Whenever I post an article, I can then find it via Google Blogsearch. Now that I use Blogger, I can't find any of my articles using Google Blogsearch, I must explicitly type the name of the blog to see it. Even when I added my blog to Google Blogsearch, it still doesn't work.

Any idea as to why this is happening?

First of all if it's new, it can take up to one week for the blog to be indexed by Google. Here's some steps for your basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • Ping-o-Matic allows you to send your RSS page to search engines and ping them to update their indexes.
  • You can also share your blog on social networks like Facebook and Twitter to get more traffic to your site.
