Is there a client that will only show tweeted messages that have been retweeted "n" number of times? I am trying to use twitter as a "news source" I'm wanting to follow reporters and others that I see tweeting news. However, I don't wish to see there silly comments to each other. So I was thinking if I could limit the tweets I see to maybe only tweets that have been retweeted > 50 times (just an example would have to experiment with it I would think) then I could achieve this. I've also only started using this so maybe I could do the same with tweets that have been marked as a favorite tweet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bonus: Any client that does this with a RSS Reader? Thanks!

Well, Twitter doesn't allow such filter. And according to twitter API terms, apps are not supposed to save the Twitter contents. So I don't think you can find such app. If you find an app, that's awesome, let us know. If not, you could use the Discover tab on Twitter Web. That should give a gist of all the hot news around the world. –  Bibhas Mar 17 '13 at 19:09

Here, dev.twitter.com/docs/faq#6899 , it talks about a call in the Twitter API for getting the retweet counts from a tweet. So it should be a pretty simple filter. retweet.count >= 50 then show. I could write up something but I just hate to spend all that time doing it if it already exists... –  daveomcd Mar 18 '13 at 3:06

Not really. This is for a single tweet. And it's the other way around: Get tweet, check RT count. What you want is: Here is RT count, show me tweets. To run such a query, You need all the tweets in one place. Which you don't have. –  Bibhas Mar 18 '13 at 6:03
