is it possible to copy a drawing created with Draw.io app (integrated with Drive) into a Google Doc?

I managed to export the draw.io file as png and then pasting it inside the Google Doc, but it would be nice to be able to paste it (as an image or rich text) without the need of storing the file in my pc.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

No, there's no easier way than the method you describe. We will add the ability to export the image directly to Drive, though.

Has there been any progress on this matter since June? And do I take the response to mean that it'll just be a static image available i.e. there's no plan for 'live linking'? Thanks –  user55767 Dec 26 '13 at 12:02

@user55767 "Line linking" isn't technically possible unless Google expose some kind of API to embed third-party content, which they haven't to date. –  David Dec 26 '13 at 20:42
