At university, some of my clients now use the University 4-year subscription to Office 365.

"Customers trust Microsoft to protect their data." (Office 365 Trust center)

Well, not so much. Actually, I am concerned about copying all of my files to their servers, and not encrypting it.

  • If I subscribe to Office 365 university, can I easily use (local) encryption?

  • Can I disable all cloud services that save my Word documents?

(sent here from superuser.com). Actually, I would have to ask my employer for permission, since my contract binds me to EU privacy regulations. They would have the legal issue, then. –  Josef Tr. Jul 21 '13 at 2:23
