Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

A friend of a friend sometimes posts links to, for example, news stories on the BBC, with the text of the link preview altered as a joke. The preview still displays, for example, 'bbc.co.uk' as the domain.

I suspect there may be some service similar to a url shortener that also allows the user (link creator) to make changes to the content that will be presented to the Facebook user agent as it constructs it's timeline view, but I'm not sure. A quick Google search didn't seem to find the answer.

Not entirely sure why someone felt the need to downvote me. –  PeterT Jul 24 '13 at 18:28
