I would like to share a link to a sound file on SoundCloud that automatically starts playing at a certain point in time. Is this feature available on SoundCloud, and if so, how do the respective URLs look like?

This is basically the same feature as Linking directly to a specific point in time of a YouTube video, only for audio instead of video.

When you hit the share button on a song, the screen features a check box that lets you create a link to the a specific time:

It's worth noting that at this stage, you can click the orange timeline above to navigate the song and find the time you're trying to link.

This option has now been removed from the Share dialog - god knows why. However, adding #t=01:28 to the end of the URL, as in the other answer, still works. – Simon W Jul 15 '15 at 12:24
Just tried again. I still have the option. – Alexander Rechsteiner Aug 11 '15 at 10:12
How strange. Ah well... – Simon W Aug 11 '15 at 21:04

Although I couldn't find any information about the feature in the official SoundCloud documentation or the SoundCloud user interface, it works if you append #t={minutes}:{seconds} to a SoundCloud URL.

Example: https://soundcloud.com/stack-exchange/stack-exchange-podcast-51#t=9:36
