Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

This is a huge problem. When we email a password protected Excel file with hidden and locked cells to protect formulas, they open on a Droid showing and allowing manipulation of all protected formulas. They are fine when they go to a computer running Microsoft but are immediately opened showing all hidden cells and allowing changes to locked cells in Google Spreadsheet. We have password protected the 2 sheets in the workbook and password protected the workbook - all with lengthy alpha and numeric, upper and lower case and symbols.

What else can we do to protect the formulas?

Interesting as it is usually vice versa, but I wonder whether this Q might be better suited to Super User because it seems more a failure of Excel to protect the data than an problem with Google Spreadsheet. –  pnuts Feb 16 '14 at 16:57
