Is it possible to set Office Web Apps as the default application for Office documents on Windows? I figure this can't be done at the system level, so I'd be happy with a Firefox extension or IE add-on that could accomplish this.

I found a Chrome extension that does what I'm looking for — is there any equivalent in Firefox or IE?

Do you mean Office documents that are stored locally on your computer, or documents that you find on the web? – Vidar S. Ramdal Nov 7 '13 at 11:49

@VidarS.Ramdal: I mean documents from the web. This would be for a public terminal, so there would be no documents stored locally. – Ian Valentine Nov 8 '13 at 5:31
