Is there any web-app/website which allows collaborative travel planning? i want to plan a trip with a friend across the world, so would like a tool which can help us put maps, notes, pictures in one place and then discuss.

One very good website is TripIt which provides lots of nice colaborative features.

I've used TripIt and it's great. You can just forward you email confirmation for flights, hotel bookings, car rental, etc to them and their will parse them and include in your itinerary. If you have a GMail account they can monitor your account for those emails so you don't have to do anything ;-) – Jakub Konecki Oct 17 '10 at 15:17
