I've found a lot of plugins to turn Joomla into an OpenID provider - but I already have that setup and I need for Joomla 1.5 to consume OpenIDs - is there a plugin out there that will actually work for Joomla 1.5 and perform this action?

Have a look at this tutorial https://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/using-openid-and-gmail-logins-in-joomla-15

It says Joomla! 1.5 has a core plugin for logging in with OpenID and describes how to enable it.
