How would it be possible to delete accounts on another website with just a click? The other website would have to authenticate you somehow before it deleted the account. – delete Jul 1 '10 at 9:15
of course it should authenticate you... – neo Jul 1 '10 at 9:19

There was a recent article about this on Smashing Magazine:

How To Permanently Delete Your Account on Popular Websites

The article includes details on how difficult it is to remove your account (or if it is even possible!) and just how 'permanent' the deletion is.

Sites covered are: Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn, Google, Ebay, Wikipedia, Flickr/Yahoo!, Windows Live, Stumbleupon, Wordpress.com, Amazon, YouTube and PayPal.
