I started forwarding email to my gmail account and haven't downloaded/deleted messages from my email account for a long time and now there's over 2gb of mail to download.

How can I delete the mail without the requirement to first download? I have access to cpanel, should I just delete and add the address again?

Thanks

Doesn't your email server have a webmail client ? – Sathya Oct 5 '10 at 13:05
Do you have IMAP access? – seanyboy Oct 6 '10 at 11:33
I'm assuming that you want to delete the email messages on the non-Gmail account. Which email provider are you using? – Senseful Oct 12 '10 at 18:56
Correct, I want to empty the user@domain.com mailbox hosted on our own domain. Ended up killing the address and readding it via cpanel – Canon Gangsta Oct 15 '10 at 17:23

Set up IMAP on your server and client, and just delete from there.

The method I used to clear this inbox was to login via the domain cpanel, delete and recreate the email address.
