Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I wonder if there is a good online IRC client especially for Freenode, besides http://webchat.freenode.net cause that one really, really suck :)

There are no notifications, you can't save your channels etc.

Cause I am going to go with Chrome OS when it comes out and I can't figure out which online IRC chat to use to connect freenode since they have banned http://02.chat.mibbit.com/.

I spotted this off my twitter stream: IRC Cloud. The service is still in Beta, and I'm still waiting for my invite, so I cannot say how good the service is, or whether or not it will support freenode.

You can keep track of it via their twitter stream.

You could use the official web client

http://webchat.freenode.net/

Those are not channels. Freenode is the server (actually a collection of individual servers) and #chromium is the channel discussing Chromium OS.

Instead of using web clients like Mibbit and WebChat, the best way to connect to IRC is with an IRC client, like xchat or mirc (Windows only).

As I said, Im going to go with Chrome OS and it runs only web apps. Or at least that is the point. –  ajsie Oct 18 '10 at 0:26
