How can I see how many unread items I have in Google Reader if it's more than 1,000?

Google Reader only seems to tell you the exact number of unread items you have if it's less than 1,000. If it's more, it will just display "1000+" for the item count. Is there a way I can see the exact number of unread items I have if it's more than 1,000?
