Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I don't like having to install a 900 MB MikTeX + TeXnicCenter + GhostScript + GSView solution.

Isn't there an web app which does the same thing?

Check out the mathjax.org JS framework. (I include it only for the sake of completeness, since this doesn't strictly answer your question, but may be useful to others.) – msanford Dec 21 '12 at 5:11

LaTeX Lab (which is still in active development) is an online TeX editor and renderer, using the Google Apps framework. It works much like Google Docs does for WYSIWYG text editing, but with LaTeX. It is planned to eventually have sharing features like Google Docs as well, and already integrates with your Google account. I've used it a bit, and like it quite a bit.

There is also MathBin, which is useful for posting quick snippets of LaTeX code for giving examples to people and such.

There's http://www.scribtex.com/

Also, have you looked at the TeX facilities in Google Docs ?

Hope this helps.

Where do I read about TeX facilities in Google Docs? Do you mean SpartanTeX? – Jader Dias Nov 18 '10 at 12:26
Yes, something like SpartanTex or LaTeXLab (code.google.com/p/latex-lab) that integrate via the GData API – Whitingx Nov 18 '10 at 13:23
Scribtext compiled my project correctly, while latex-lab didn't – Jader Dias Jul 5 '11 at 16:38

There's an Online LaTeX Equation Editor, which I find really useful.
