Web Applications Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for power users of web applications. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have been looking for a solution to this all over, but did not find one that I like.

I have an IMAP account with some folder. I want to import all of the contents of this folder into a Gmail account. Currently, only the inbox folder is imported from the IMAP account to Gmail, but not the other folders.

I found all kind of solutions in Google, none of them are really good. The closest one to work was dragging the IMAP folder to the Gmail folder in a client like Mail or Thunderbird, but it always gets stuck after a while.

Who's your email provider? Do they provide you with POP access? Which importing method did you try to use in your second paragraph? Have you tried this method? –  Senseful Nov 20 '10 at 19:36

Try dragging the messages over 1000 at a time or something? I'd create a new Gmail folder for them and then transfer to INBOX later. I think Gmail can also check remote IMAP servers for mail and bring them into your Gmail account. –  barrycarter Feb 27 '11 at 15:12
