I'm subscribed to a huge and frequently updated RSS feed in Google Reader.

This feed contains some interesting information, and a lot of noise.

I'm looking for a way to filter out noise (say, mark all entries, that match a certain set of regexps, as read).

I do not want to use another reader. (But I may change the feed -- proxy it through some filter for example.)

As I've mentioned in other responses, Yahoo Pipes may be a solution for you. And it sounds like your not averse to using some RegExps.

Here is a Greasemonkey script for that (haven't tried that myself). Personally I just use searching (:

Feed sifter. Then subscribe to the filtered feed.
