Copy / paste should work for the URL itself.
Do you really want Facebook to then look at the URL and show some nice summary text and a picture, instead of just the URL? Whether or not this works will depend on:
Whether Facebook (or any other unauthenticated user) has access to
the site that the URL points to (ie it's not behind a login
screen), and
