An open source project hosting service. It has been retired and will shut down completely January, 2016.

In March, 2015, Google Announced they were retiring Google Code.

Google Code was an open source project hosting service offered by Google. It allowed users to create new projects to have their open source code hosted for free, with additional tools like issue tracking, wikis and downloads to support the software development.

The project hosting service supported SVN, Git and Mercurial code hosting, and did not accept new projects that are closed source. There was a basic limit of 4096MB per project, but that could be increased with a request to the support team.

Users could create up to 10 projects in this service.
