An obsolete desktop search software by Google.
First introduced in 2004, Google Desktop was a desktop search software by Google. It allowed the user to search their own files, emails and the web all from one location. The software, integrated into a desktop gadget in Windows Vista and above, is one of the many Google Gadgets that Google offers for Windows users.
This service has been discontinued on 2011, citing the fact that more users are moving to cloud-based storage and computing, thus draining the number of people using Google Desktop.
