The application-password that you create will need to be added in two places in your Apple Mail app. There is your Incoming Mail Server password, which is immediately visible under your account information. Below that you can see the selection for Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). The default will be Gmail. Click on the drop down box and select "Edit Server ...

It is Shift+3 within a message for Mac. It is the same in the inbox as well You must move to the message with j/k Select a message with x Then press Shift+3 It could be that your keyboard layout is different. Using a UK layout, it would be Option + 3 : ⌥ + 3, but this does not work (Not sure why). You can also remap your keys with the Google Labs ...

What about Jungle Disk? It will set up an s3 account as a local drive. I'm not sure what sync capabilities it has natively, but your mac has rsync built-in and you could use that. There's more discussion about other Amazon s3 clients in the question about the best Amazon s3 file manager utility.

I have seen this, but usually it does not impact the functionality of GMail; that is, it keeps "loading" but the GMail app is fully functional in Chrome. Is that what you're seeing too?

Add gmail to your Mail.app or Thunderbird. Open the emails you need beforehand, so you can write the replies to them.

As Jeff mentioned, it doesn't appear to affect the way Gmail works. According to several different Chrome Bug reports (1, 2, 3, 4), the Gmail website is attempting to load a resource that is taking forever/not loading properly. According to the bug reports, it has something to do with this GET requested URL: Request URL: ...

I ran into this problem as well, and after a while determined it's related to the Keychain Access where the passwords are stored. One forum I found suggested running a "Repair" of the login keychain (available via the "First Aid" menu item), which resolved the problem for some people. For me, however, the repair process found nothing to fix. Finally, I ...

The Dropbox web interface has a 'show deleted files' button (icon a small trash can) at the top of each folder view. Navigate to the folder which used to contain your deleted files (if you have deleted all your files, the home directory), click this icon and select 'restore' to restore your files. See Dropbox's How do I recover deleted files?.

It is probably because gmail uses long server polling to update itself and chrome shows that as an open connection and keeps spinning the 'loading' icon. We found this to happen with our apps too, in Chrome only, which use GWT and long server polling to do 'server push'. If this is indeed the case with gmail too then its the fault of Chrome not gmail. ...

The problem is for non-windows users I believe. Windows users use Ctrl + F and it works to open up the find interface. But when you're using a Command button with other systems, it seems that it is not registering the Command, just the f which "favorites" the message. Is that the issue you're having? Here is a list of the new keyboard shortcuts. There is ...

Every traditional mail client (like apple mail) allows you to write letters while being offline. Have a try.

Doesn't look like it there is a way to do so just between Google Docs and Word 2010 for Mac via the official Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft. There may be a 3rd party app that can do the job though. However, that is also unlikely since there isn't any API that is for Mac's version. From Google's Doc Blog (Source) Many of you have also asked about ...

As a side note: I'd love to mail them a storage device for the first dump And you're also prepared to use such service when you need to restore your whole system? If not, then you may want to consider if an online backup really suits your needs, and see some generic thoughts on some test results at Best choice for a personal “online backup” in ...

On Google's support site, regarding 2-step verification, they speak directly of this issue and say this it more or less comes down to being sure that your check off the "remember this password" box Quoted directly from Google's support site: Soon after you turn on 2-step verification, you'll be alerted that your password is no longer working (see image ...

[Edited, see comments] In the Mail application you'll want to add a second (or third, etc. if you have more) SMTP account. Then, when composing an email, you can select which account from which you wish to send it. More information: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20010401111133239

Honestly, any vendor you choose for backup is going to be good if they're worth their beans. And any backup vendor that isn't worth their beans probably doesn't exist anymore. Don't hop on the "startup free backup service" bandwagon, go somewhere that keeps your stuff safe, secure, and most of all, ALWAYS AVAILABLE. A backup vendor with downtime puts you in ...

The easiest way is to just set up IMAP in the GMail settings and then use your favorite desktop client. (I use Apple's Mail) However there are some big gotchas with this method. For one if you poll GMail's IMAP server too often Google will think you're a spammer. At first you'll get weird “account exceeded bandwidth” errors when connecting. You can go ...

This is the expected behaviour of GMail via IMAP, and is documented here. The underlying problem is that the GMail paradigm of having one gigantic pile of mail (All Mail) with tags (and INBOX is just another tag, just one that every new message has attached) does not map well to the folder paradigm underlying IMAP. Inside GMail, it's completely normal to ...

Evernote doesn't support pushing content into the client. Having the client continuously polling their servers at a very frequent interval would place a lot of unnecessary load on their servers, which is probably why the minimum is 5 minutes. The best solution is to manually press the 'Sync' button in the client if you want to immediately view a note that ...

I haven't experienced it myself but the webapp Showzey seems to do that (for free). The full procedure is explained here : How to Move Photos From Flickr to Picasa Web. If for some reason it doesn't work for you, and you fallback to a manual approch, then desktop app Photo Grabbr (donationware) is of some help to download full sets of photos from Flickr.

It seems strange that there is nothing available that will easily do this for Mac users. I did find this blog post which seems fairly easy. It does depend on you having Python installed though. Extracted from blog post The key component to the migration was a python script I found developed by Nathan Van Gheem last year, which used both services ...
