It looks like under an older Google Profiles system (such as Buzz) it was possible to have a pretty URL like you've found above. Google axed it as a default however, in part because it effectively exposed users' username / email addresses. The best article I could find on the topic was this blog post, which mentions: if you had selected a vanity URL for ...

Facebook allows posting animated gifs but stops them from actually being animated programmatically. There are a few apps out there that claim to let you animate your profile, but anyone visiting would need to have that app installed as well to see it. you can't upload swfs to Facebook, and videos won't autoplay. I do have to admit, you gave a lot of ...

I can't see an option to remove the name, but you can recover your user id and generate a URL from that. It's a bit convoluted, but if you go to a friends profile page you'll see a link See friendship this will have an URL of the form: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=[id number 1]&and=[id number 2] From experimentation it seems that ...

They are offering only Sydney (Australia), Singapore and Tokyo (Japan) for now. And they will expand to Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth (Australia), Osaka (Japan), Hong Kong, Shanghai (China), Taipei (Taiwan), or so it seems. The company is based in Sydney, Australia, so that's most likely why it started with that part of the world.

You can't really. Or at least it's not available unless you email support. And even then, who knows if they'll oblige. If you need to swap around what username and email address is used, you can easily change them around. You'll just need to set up a third username and email pair that will be used in the triage. Say the account you want to ...

No, it is not possible. Takeout links with your Google+ account, but Google+ does not has any connection with Takeout. Google+ does has an API, but there is absolutely no way any API would ever allow an app to alter it's user personal details. Also, a single person creating and using multiple accounts, or someone creating an account with the exact details ...

You cannot remove your username. Once you have a username the only options are Start a new account (most likely you don't want that) Change to a new username (you can only do this once) A third possible (rare) option would be that a Business/entity decides to claim ownership of your username as Facebook reserves the right to reclaim usernames.
